Painting landscapes seems so "natural" after my first career as a geologist. Work and personal travels in the Southwestern US, Indonesia, Mexico, Canada and Australia provide rich memories of incredible places and cultures.
Many of my landscapes are somewhat abstract - very exaggerated and/or simplified subject matter. I absolutely love color, and it's a fun challenge to invent new colors and to put a fun spin on nature's creations!
"Objective painting is not good painting unless it is good in the abstract sense. A hill or tree cannot make a good painting just because it is a hill or a tree. It is lines and color put together so that they may say something." Georgia O'Keeffe
