Back to School! - This whimsical painting goes with a recipe for Cabbage Patch Stew from MaryAnn Rogers, a retired school teacher. Her kids loved this and it was easy to make so it was a "go-to" dinner during the school year. Fun!
Texas Jalapeño Appetizers - from my friend Kitty Hingst Schuster. When Kitty was visiting her son in Kansas City, she made 2 jalapeño appetizers. Of course, being a native Texan, I loved them and asked Kitty to share them. You'll be happy I did!
Chicken Tetrazzini - A wonderful recipe from my friend Jan Stein. Her daughter confirmed that this is the family favorite! Jan is a neighbor and a very colorful person so this chicken had to be really feisty and colorful .
Spring Green Asparagus Soup - Marlene Pantos shared a recipe for this soup which features asparagus grown in her garden! Asparagus, potatoes, cheese - yum!! I had to add a little bee, because Marlene and her family also sell honey that they make. I have a jar of it - which is almost gone - and it's delicious!!
Italian Italian Beef Stew - Sandy Garone shared her family's favorite beef stew. Sandy married into an Italian family that raises cattle in California. Although she's pure Irish, she's become quite the Italian cook!
Orange Candy Cookies - Wow, this recipe brings back lots of memories! Dawn Hees's mother was famous for making these cookies when we were growing up in Bishop, a tiny town in south Texas. Remember those chewy orange candy slices, covered with sugar? They get chopped up and added to the cookie batter for some really yummy treats!
